Safety considerations:
The seeds contain irritating hairs, so please be careful when filtering not to let any into your syrup. They can cause stomach upsets and be very uncomfortable.

Rosehip syrup
  1. Wash your hips (dog rose or japanese rose)
  2. Cover hips with water approx 3cm
  3. Boil gently and slowly (reduce Vit C being lost) until soft
  4. Mash
  5. Let liquid cool a little until you can handle temperature
  6. Push paste through strainer
  7. Repeat but this time squeezing gently through a double folded muslin cloth. (remember to not let any seeds/hairs through.
  8. Add sugar to taste.
